Placement transparency

Sometimes the honest answer is that a team is going to struggle no matter which division they land in. When placement review shows that, you get told before the season starts rather than after weeks of one-sided losses.

The message you’d receive

Based on our placement review, we believe this season will be significantly more difficult than intended for your team. We’d still love to have you participate, but we want to be transparent before the league begins. You may continue with your registration, or receive a full refund before the league starts.

Both options are genuinely open. Continuing is fine. So is taking the refund.

Why this exists

Most leagues don’t offer this. The reasoning is that a team who makes an informed choice is better off either way than a team who gets destroyed for a season and leaves believing the league itself was the problem.

It also sets the limit of what is being promised, which matters:

We don’t guarantee perfectly balanced matches. We guarantee that we actively work every season to place every team where they’ll have the most competitive experience possible.

The commitment is to the work, not to a perfect outcome. Anything framed as guaranteed matchmaking would be overpromising.
